Educators implement effective planning, instruction, assessment and reporting practices to create respectful, inclusive environments for student learning and development.

I have added some of my favorite lesson plan and/or unit plans which provides a snapshot of some of my most successful effective planning, instruction, assessment and reporting practices to create respectful, inclusive environments for student learning and development.

In my “Notes to the Teacher” assignment for Education 402, I attached this to my lesson plan above that I taught in my student teaching practicum about courage and its importance. The “Notes to the Teacher” document exemplifies and discusses what tacit assumptions underpin the discipline/subject area for the lesson plan, including: What knowledges, experiences, cultures, and voices are valued?; What knowledges, experiences, cultures, and voices are silenced or left out? This document also provides suggestions for pedagogical approaches and resources for another teacher to consider as they create a respectful and inclusive environment for student learning and development.

Throughout my student teaching time, I have found that using my own creativity to create my own anchor charts for my students indeed helps with my instruction and is used as an effective planning strategy to create an inclusive and respectful learning environment for all students. I absolutely love using anchor charts for a variety of subject areas.
